Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital has an 80 year tradition of care as a community-based, not-for-profit health care provider. Helen Ellis Memorial is a member of a five hospital regional network called University Community Health. The network includes University Community Hospital, in Tampa; Pepin Heart and Research Institute in Tampa, University Community Hospital – Carrollwood; UCH Connerton Long Term Care Hospital and Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs. 

Helen Ellis is moving aggressively forward to become the Heart Center for our service area communities in North Pinellas and West Pasco. For the past four years, Helen Ellis has offered emergency angioplasty, the gold standard for stopping a heart attack in its tracks by opening blocked coronary arteries.  Our exceptional outcomes in saving lives place Helen Ellis in the top tier among area hospitals in this capability. Early in 2009, we installed a state-of-the-art hybrid cath lab and a full line of cardiac diagnostic and interventional services, including elective angioplasty and carotid artery treatment. We also have an excellent electrophysiology lab for treating electrical disorders of the heart. These capabilities help us toward our ultimate goal - to establish a full service open heart surgery program here in the near future.
