Heart & Vascular Services at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital
Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital provides leading edge cardiovascular treatments and procedures. Both emergency and interventional procedures involve non-surgical treatments that open narrowed arteries to improve or restore blood flow to the heart.
Our emergency angioplasty services are for the treatment of patients who are diagnosed with a arterial blockage and in danger of severe cardiac damage or death. Specially trained interventional cardiologists and support staff are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to give life-saving treatment, emergency angioplasty, in the hospital's cardiac catheterization lab.
A Short-Stay Cardiac Unit is also part of HEMH's heart & vascular services. This is a unit for monitored patient care and observation, as well as for cardiac cath patient prep and recovery. Other Pepin Heart Hospital related inpatient and outpatient services include diagnostic cardiology, EKG, stress testing, holter monitor studies, echocardiography, stress echo, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac catheterization; as well as peripheral vascular testing (invasive and non-invasive), vascular surgery, and cardiac patient education.
A Cardiac Rehab program is available to assist patients in their recovery from a heart attack.
