The Pepin Heart & Vascular Institute at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital

The Pepin Heart & Vascular Institute (PHVI), at University Community Hospital in Tampa, is one of the premier cardiac care programs in the Tampa Bay area. PHVI has the most open heart surgical patients of any cardiac facility in the region.

A Pepin Heart & Vascular Institute affiliated program is now available at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital. It provides a broad range of services for patients with cardiac related problems. A Short-Stay Cardiac Unit is part of PHVI services. It is a unit for monitored patient care and observation, as well as for cardiac cath patient prep and recovery. Other PHVI related inpatient and outpatient services include diagnostic cardiology, EKG, stress testing, holter monitor studies, echocardiography, stress echo, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac catheterization; as well as peripheral vascular testing (invasive and non-invasive), vascular surgery, and cardiac patient education. A Cardiac Rehab program is available to assist patients in their recovery from a heart attack.
