Wound Healing Institute
At the Wound Healing Institue at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, oxygen is a tool of therapy and healing. The center has two hyperbaric chambers in which patients breathe 100% pure oxygen under greater than normal atmospheric pressure. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy quickly delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream, accelerating the body’s own healing resources against certain infections. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is just one of a range of services available for wound healing at the Institute. Other treatment modalities include debridement, nutrition assessment and counseling, education about wound prevention, wound and culture biopsies, antibiotic management and compression therapy.

A highly trained team of physicians, nurses and technical personnel staff the Wound Healing Institute. They apply the latest technology and skills to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient.

The Wound Healing Institute at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital is part of University Community Health's Wound Healing Institute, which offers four locations, in Tarpon Springs, Tampa, Carrollwood, and Brandon. Helen Ellis' Wound Healing Institute is located adjacent to the hospital campus at 1501 South Pinellas Avenue in Tarpon Springs. For more information, call (727) 943-3640, weekdays.
